Melissa Lanouette

Attorney Melissa Lanouette earned her Juris Doctor degree from Suffolk University Law School in Boston. Prior to law school, Melissa developed a passion for serving individuals with disabilities while working at Cape Cod Community College in a program supporting students with disabilities.

Melissa has practiced in the Boston area since 2012, focusing predominantly on Social Security Disability law. In her work, she prides herself not only on results but on the real impact disability benefits can have on a client’s life. Melissa believes every claimant has a unique story of how disability affects their ability to work and live, and she considers it an honor to help clients share that story clearly and confidently while advocating for the benefits they need through the Social Security Administration.

Melissa has been selected as a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” from 2017 to 2025 and was chosen to participate in the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Leadership Academy cohort.

Melissa is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR), as well as Advocates, Counselors, and Representatives for the Disabled. She volunteers with the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Dial-A-Lawyer program and serves as pro bono counsel for Boston Swing Central.

Outside the office, Melissa volunteers with her neighborhood Civic Association, serves as a Girl Scout Troop leader, and is also a professional musician.
